So, I went to visit my girlfriend in New Jersey this past Friday via NJ Transit from Penn Station to New Brunswick. While waiting for her to come pick me up from the station, I decided to take a walk around the lovely town of New Brunswick and I stumbled upon this amazing skate shop. I walk in and see one wall lined with skate decks, the other lined with sneakers, and a whole lot of tee's and hoodies in between. It just opened this past St Patrick's Day, but it is fully stocked for a new shop. Not to mention it's only 1 of 4 shops in NJ that has a Nike SB account...and you know I had to pick up a pair (or two) for myself while I was there. Haha.

Ever since the snippet was released last week, everyone has been looking for the new Kanye track "Can't Tell Me Nothing." Well, this isn't high quality, but it IS the full song (courtesy of hiphopgame.com) Some good wordplay, but I think it's wayyyyyy to mellow for a first single. If you didn't know, Kanye puts out a pre-album before the actual release of every new album, so I'm kinda hoping this track is off of the pre-album, not off of "Graduation." Anyway, enjoy and lemme know your thoughts.

RICK RUBIN LEAVES WARNER BROS. FOR COLUMBIA

Music pioneer Rick Rubin has left Warner Bros. to run Columbia Records with the current chairman, Steve Barnett. Rubin, who founded Def Jam in 1982 has produced hit records for with rap legends such as the Beastie Boys, LL, Public Enemy, and Jay Z...not to mention working on award-winning albums by the likes of Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond. Just last year, he set the record for the most Grammy's won by a record Producer, taking home five awards, including "Producer of the Year." Rubin will now be in charge of producing and developing artists on the Sony BMG label, but will also continue producing tracks for artists still signed to Warner Bros. Congratulations Rick.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Fergie and her "humps," but I'm liking this song. It's more mature sounding and actually has some substance in the lyrics. Lemme know your thoughts.

50 CENT - FULLY LOADED CLIP MONTAGE

Here's an official "video" for 50's song "Fully Loaded Clip" off his new album entitled "Curtis." I don't know about you, but it's just not believable to me. He comes out on this track rapping about "shining his nine" meanwhile he's writing songs like "Amusement Park" where he sings "If you wanna ride on a roller coaster baby come on and ride/it goes up and down and round and round." I think 50's past his prime, but hopefully after I hear all the tracks off the new album he proves me wrong.
